I’ve been reading my way through the Song of Ice and Fire series lately. I’m about halfway through the second book now. (No spoilers please!)
I love all the luscious descriptions of characters and locations, so here is a quick vector of a young Daenerys, dreaming of the red door far away.
Oh wow, I love her hair! Song of Ice and Fire, never heard of it. Do you like it so far? Would you recommend it?
It’s very gritty fantasy. I like it a lot, but it does feature quite a lot of violence and quite a few, um, naked activities…
That said, the story is vast and rich and beautiful, but some of the details are not for the squeamish! The clothes and banners and food are equally well described as the battles though, so I think it balances out.
That sounds like my kind of book! I’ve been looking for some good, new fantasy to sink my teeth into. >D Thanks for mentioning it!
