Flyder

A spider will one day figure out how to spin webs across its legs, and learn to fly!

Some day, spiders will figure out how to do this, and then we’re doomed.

Die Kartoffel

A lady potato, with a hair bow and a tutu, because in German she would be die Kartoffel

Still trying to learn German, still puzzled by gendered veg! Here is a potato about to attend her first ballet lesson.

Der Apfel

Der Apfel, an apple pretending to be a man

So I’m trying to brush up on my German lately, but it’s hard to remember all genders that random objects have. Apples are of the gentlemanly persuasion.

Good Dog

A dog ponders the human hand patting his head.

The other day I found myself wondering, what do animals think of the human hand? It’s such a weird appendage.

Con Carne

A delicious pot of chilli con carne, with no chilli

Some time later, that same foolish web designer made a delicious pot of chilli con carne.

Except she forgot the chilli, so it was just con carne.

Fish Supper

A fish for supper, an intersecting slice of lemon and lime form a venn diagram, which shows the fish was mostly eaten, but only mostly cooked

There was once a very foolish web designer who mostly ate a mostly cooked fish, and hoped there was as much overlap as possible.

First Butterfly of Spring

A cabbage white butterfly makes to land on a drooping chive flower

Saw the first butterfly of the season in my tiny urban garden the other day. I was super chuffed. Hopefully it’ll come back when the cherry tomatoes are ready to be pollinated.

Hedgehog Sun

A spiky yellow hedgehog takes the place of the sun

If the sun were a hedgehog,
it would sleep all the time,
because they are nocturnal.

Elephant with a Flower

A blue elephant stares out solemnly, and salutes you with a flower

I miss doing a drawing every day. So I’m going to take it up again. That said, here is an elephant with a flower.
